Elizabeth E M Taylor remembers struggling to find a work-life balance in the early days of her business. It wasn’t until she became strongly involved in Habitat Global Village, the charity through which she has built houses in Mexico, South Africa, Thailand and more, that things came into focus.
“I feel like I found my purpose in life. I am curious about the world around me and cultural differences, and I have a desire to explore the depth of the human spirit,” said the 11-year MDRT member from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. “Habitat allows me to be an ambassador and an advocate not only in my community but communities abroad. My job allows me the means and opportunity to give back, but sometimes being an advisor can wear on you emotionally. Habitat balances that emotion by filling me with love, gratitude and energy.
“I feel like I’m leaving a circular life. Business will take care of itself if you take care of yourself.”
