4 questions to help your brand on social media

Knowing what to post on your professional social media pages can be challenging. I have four personal branding questions that I ask myself to craft my social media content. These may help you as well in determining what content you want on social media.

  1. Am I someone a client can trust?
To show trustworthiness and passion for my profession, I post on social media about the training I attend. Furthermore, I’ll share some of my learnings and photos of me with the speakers to leverage on the authority figure effect.
  2. Am I knowledgeable?
Knowledge builds my competency, which leads to confidence. This also includes attending other courses and training for designations. I then share on social media the meaning of my designations since clients and prospects may not otherwise understand.
  3. Am I committed to the mission, not just the commission?
I usually focus on these two key points in my content and presentations so I’m memorable to clients. For me, being committed to my mission means I want to give clients peace of mind that if something happened to them as the insurance policy owner, their family won’t be left without anything. Being committed to my mission also means I bring comfort to clients. By clients buying investment plans with me, they will be able to enjoy the benefits of their hard-earned money and use it for travelling, business expansion and living a comfortable life. I will also post about the successful claims and testimonials on social media.
  4. How do I add value to my prospects in social media for engagement?
I quickly reply to clients’ questions and concerns. I’m visible and build rapport with prospects.

With these four guiding questions, you will build a personal brand that resonates with prospects who are a good fit for you as a financial advisor.
