Most people want to be more efficient and spend more time doing what they love instead of what bogs them down. Yet, multiple small issues and tasks — both planned and unplanned — cause interruptions in a financial advisor’s day. Combined, these issues eat away at your time, your productivity and your career satisfaction.
Try these MDRT members’ ideas to free up time and allow you to focus more on what you do best.
Templated consistency and efficiency
Create templates for staff for every sort of mail or email that goes out. I have at least 80 templates. They’re even for simple communication, such as after a policy is issued or to send a welcome letter to new clients. This solves the problem of inconsistent messaging, spelling and grammar errors, and it helps with training new assistants.

Connect clients to admins
I direct clients to my admins as much as I can. For example, all of my clients have a chat group they’re in with my admins. This allows clients to easily post a question in the chat. Also, when I’m in a meeting and can’t be reached, I set an out-of-office reply that directs people to my admins. It lets clients get the assistance they need, and I get the focus I need.
