Part of the foundation of success for MDRT members is service to others.
One way members meaningfully impact communities is through the MDRT Foundation Phonathon, which raised more than $311,000 this year for the Foundation’s global grant programs. On March 25 and 26, OneAmerica hosted 17 dedicated MDRT members in Indianapolis, Indiana, who graciously gave their time calling other members for pledges.
“I can’t imagine a better way to make an impact with my time and my money than through the MDRT Foundation,” said Phonathon Chair and nine-year MDRT member Timothy Daniel Clairmont, CFP, MSFS. “Many of us do not have the time to individually examine all of the charities around the world and decide who needs our help the most. By leaning into the combined efforts and wisdom of our MDRT community, we can efficiently support grants to charities that our members believe in!
“So many of my friends at MDRT spend most of their lives helping their clients and loved ones with their financial planning and insurance needs. These selfless individuals give their time to help their clients. Many of them also give their time to help the local nonprofits in their area as well,” said Clairmont, a Top of the Table qualifier from Lake Oswego, Oregon.
In fact, a day before the Phonathon, 12 MDRT members and volunteers shopped, cooked and served a hearty Italian dinner to families staying at the Ronald McDonald Limestone House near Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.
As MDRT membership continues to expand and diversify, so has the reach of its Foundation. Since 1959, more than $34 million has been invested in charitable organizations from all 50 U.S. states and more than 70 countries, supporting causes important to MDRT members.
