The transformative power of daily habits

I’ve learned that success is not about big steps but about the small actions we consistently repeat every day. With a habits logbook, you can take control and ensure you’re doing what truly matters.

These are the five practical habits that have changed my career:

  1. Create and expand your connections.
Success is about relationships. Meet new people, join a networking community or take an interesting class.
  2. Schedule at least one initial meeting and one daily closing.
These are the two most critical activities in our work. Meetings create opportunities, and closings keep you on track toward your goals.
  3. Train continually.
Spend 15 minutes a day learning something new. Listening to a podcast, reading a book or taking a course can equip you with just the tools you need.
  4. Share content on social media.
Visibility is crucial. Nowadays, if you don’t communicate, you don’t connect. Use your network to build trust and attract those who are already looking for you.
  5. Practice gratitude daily.
Gratitude is not just an emotion; it’s a perspective. Writing down three things you are grateful for each day shifts your focus, allowing you to notice what you have rather than what you lack. If we saw life as it truly is, we would be on our knees with gratitude because life is wonderful. And in the world of insurance and financial planning, we understand perhaps better than anyone that health, work and family are not things to be taken for granted. Each is a gift.

Staying accountable with a logbook

Each time you successfully complete a habit, mark it with a tick in the logbook. At the end of the week, you’ll be able to see how consistent you have been. If your week is filled with ticks, you’ll know you’re making progress toward your goals.

Take it one step and one day at a time, and let your results speak for you.
