Brian Greenberg, a six-year MDRT member from Scottsdale, Arizona, recounts a phone call that stuck with him. It was with a client who, despite being a paraplegic, had been denied coverage because his health caused the condition.
“He said, ‘So, Brian, what you’re saying is if I became a paraplegic in a car accident, I’d be insurable, but because it happened when I was sick, I can’t?’” Greenberg recalled. “And I said, ‘Unfortunately that’s the case.’
“It’s always the most difficult when you can’t get somebody life insurance coverage. When you sell someone life insurance, it does something to them emotionally. It’s like a load has been lifted from them. They can sleep better.”
