Expand help to clients by helping their friends

For his best clients, 14-year MDRT member Mark Neufeld, CFP, of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, offers to serve as a “sounding board” for their friends and family. Sometimes clients have people in their lives who have questions about the financial world.

“I will be happy to invest an hour of my time, bring them into the office, sit down with them and see if I can help them. It’s not them becoming a client. If that works out, great. But if it doesn’t, I will help them find the avenue they’re looking for,” Neufeld said. “It’s not a funny, gimmicky kind of thing. It’s a real process that I have, which I started about eight months ago and is working well. It’s a great value-add to highly regarded clients.”
