Increase your credibility through an easy-to-create video series

Adrian George, CFP, TEP, wanted to reach out to all of his clients on a regular basis with relevant information, but the eight-year MDRT member from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, perceived a few challenges:

  1.       He’d have to come up with all of the ideas.
  2.       Even if he came up with some articles to write himself, it could be difficult to get his accountant, lawyer and lender to spread the word.

To solve this, George asked those three partners to think of three or four questions they get asked all the time, or information they wish all clients knew. These answers were turned into videos of two minutes or less, sometimes featuring George and sometimes featuring the accountant, attorney or lender. The videos might answer questions such as “Why do I need a will?” or “How should I pay off debt?”

This way George has outside input for information that is valuable to clients and knows that, at the very least, these associates will share the material they created themselves. There is enough to establish a database of material that is sent out every two weeks.

“It gives me a lot of credibility when someone comes to my website and looks up videos,” George said. “Some marketing is designed to get you new clients, and other marketing is done to show you’re a thought leader.”
