Sometimes it can be challenging to look at life with a positive attitude. Ariane de Bonvoisin is the founder of “The First 30 Days,” a website that helps people make change in their lives. She noted the importance of optimism and recalled Albert Einstein’s quote, “The most important decision we make is whether we believe we live in a friendly or hostile universe.”
“Is life on your side or is life against you? Is life a safe and friendly good place, or is life something you’re constantly battling, and it’s pushing you down?” de Bonvoisin asked. “You’ve got to stand back up. Are you getting knocked down? There are two very different types of people. Are you lucky or are you unlucky? Some believe that life is good and life is conspiring for good even though they’ve been knocked down. And a lot of people believe that life is not fun, that it’s full of suffering, is unsafe, and you’re unlucky. It makes a giant difference.
“Something good comes from even the hardest changes. It’s not obvious. Sometimes it’s a change in your health. Sometimes you are just a nicer person. Sometimes it renews your faith. Sometimes you move across the country, and you meet someone. Sometimes things change within your family environment even though your work environment has changed. But something good comes from every change.”
